So here is a photo story like no other for me~
On the shoot for Shannon and Chris yesterday we went to Treasure Island to finish up with the beautiful city scape in the background of a photo. There were other people and Photogs close by enjoying the evening like us… As I was working on getting my settings and flash ready we heard a guy say “Mother F-er put your hands up!!!” and repeated it a few times with a very large gun pointed at the window of the lit car… then the guy with the gun walked around the car and got in… In my mind I thought the two guys were shooting photos moments earlier together but I was not really sure~ so the two guys drove away as Chris the guy was photographing grabbed his police scanned that he has in the car and made contact with the police in seconds telling them what was going on…. I think it was about 60 seconds later a police car came speeding by at about 100mph and almost smashed into Chris who was also following these guys. The gun men got on the bridge heading to S.F. with about 15 police cars close behind them.

So here is why this is my “SOTD” in this photo you can see about 8 little blue dots on the bridge well that is the police chasing these guys and Chris too!

OK back to the story… The guys finally stopped on the bridge and were taken into custody. We had no idea that Chris was in the middle of everything and ID them on the bridge. We had Shannon Chris’s soon to be wife with us and didn’t know what to do… so we jumped in our car and headed to SF. We pulled off at the first exit to see all the cop cars. I rolled down my window and told the officers that we were the people that called and did they need info from us? “YES! pull over please” we were asked. At this point we find out that there is NO gun in the car… and the police are off on a hunt for the gun that they think the guys tossed out the window. A few other cops question the guys and kept on digging in the car to find stuff. We are just sitting, watching, answering questions and filling out reports. When I look back to see what was going on in the bad guys car and saw the gun in an officers hands. “I see it , they have it” I said, just then I realized it was a tripod they were holding with one leg extended….
I’m thinking the guy was being a DUMB ASS and was messing around with his buddy by holding him at tripod gun point. at this moment in my thought process Chris comes back into the picture and swears that it was not the tripod but it was a gun and he was in the mix much more then us so)… so the police let the 2 guys go and said they would keep on looking for the gun …. I guess we will NEVER know was it a gun on a tripod …. But I do know one thing NEVER hold your tripod up like a gun… it might get you busted!

Well the event did scare the Poop out of all of us! Im just happy we are all OK

One more thing to add to the day… At Baker Breach there was a hippie couple running around nude for like 45 mins.
