Studio KYK has a unique and individualized approach to photography. The goal of each session is to capture the subject as they naturally are….as they expressive themselves….to capture the true inner beauty of each subject- whether it be a person, animal, object, part of nature or event.
While Studio KYK offers all types of portraits- our preference is to provide a contemporary style of portraiture that is less posed…less stiff and more natural. We try to avoid the, “smile” or “say cheese” approach to photography, and instead go for the “just have fun and be you!” approach. Some of the most beautiful and timeless images are not of the subject smiling, but rather a moment in which they are experiencing a real and unplanned emotion~ an emotion that is captured just as it naturally occurs.
As lifestyle photographers, we specialize in capturing ALL of life’s most priceless moments: maternity, newborns to seniors, births, weddings, events/parties, boudoir, nature, stock, sports….you name it- we photograph it. Our approach is fresh and unique in that we aim to capture each of those “moments in time.” We are just as likely to capture those in between moments (the mother dressing the bride, the new mom bathing the newborn while preparing for portraits, the child crying because they don’t want to be in a picture. etc.) as we are to capture the laughter and traditional shots.
One of the greatest skills that the Studio KYK Photographers offer is our ability to shoot anywhere- working with a variety of environments, textures, lighting scenarios and different types of people. As photographers who aim to capture not who but what you are- our favorite feedback from all of our clients is that phrase, “Oh- that is so him!” or “Wow- I love it when she makes that expression!”
When preparing for a session with KYK, plan to sit back, relax, engage in your everyday activities and actually ENJOY the experience of having all those special moments you love captured as they naturally occur! It is our goal for each client to enjoy the process and to walk away with images that have not only captured genuine emotion, but that tell the story of our subjects.
